Summer is a time when most people spend time outdoors; it is vacation time for a lot of people. Spending time outdoors is also the reason skin gets tanned—sometimes burned—but definitely gets dry. According to Kerstin Florian, excessive sun exposure can lead to dry, sun-damaged skin.
When doing any outdoor activity, you should prepare and hydrate every time you leave the house. The hydrating regimen for skin should include masques, boosters, moisturizer, moisturizer prep and a revitalizing toner spritz.
It is not only the skin that needs hydration, but you should also watch your water intake. Make sure you drink at least eight glasses of water a day. If you drink caffeinated drinks or carbonated drinks, you should consider drinking more water.
If you have to be under the sun for more than fifteen minutes at a time, apply sunscreen every time you go out. You can re-apply for most of the day.
Water, and More Water
Water is a friend; it is a necessity for living. You don’t need to count your intake, as long as you remember to make it a habit of drinking often.
To keep things simple, you could drink a glass of water before meals, two glasses of water 30 minutes after every meal and another two or more glasses between meals. An alternative to scheduling your water intake, you could drink after every time you feel your mouth parched, every hour or so, or after you go to the toilet.
The human body requires water. Nothing is better than water—that includes using water-based products for skincare as well as drinking water. Make water an important of your health regimen.
Some of the benefits of drinking water include improved digestion and regular bowel movements. It also helps prevent exhaustion and fatigue, headaches and sore muscles. It should not be a surprise that skincare starts with adequate water intake.
